What the site provides is general reading and a form that hands a homeowner's request to be contacted to one independent local contractor. It is not a contractor, waterproofing company or plumber, and it represents no contractor as an agent. Performing, inspecting, bidding on, pricing or guaranteeing basement work is outside its role. So are presenting, negotiating or signing contracts, setting appointments, taking deposits and anything to do with insurance. You and the contractor alone settle the price, contract terms, permits, payments and warranty.

No promise is made here about any contractor's workmanship, prices, licensing or insurance. Before you commit, find out which local license or registration covers the contractor at your address and check it with the permit office, get a certificate of liability insurance, and make sure plumbing goes to a licensed plumbing contractor with proper permits. In Indiana, home improvement over $150 calls for a written contract that the contractor signs ahead of you.

Contractors may pay the site a flat advertising fee. No homeowner is charged, and none is given money, gifts or other value.

Guides, cost ranges, the cost calculator and the wet-basement checker are supplied as is and only for general information. Figures cite a source and year and can go stale. Treat none of it as legal, insurance, engineering or financial advice.

To the fullest extent the law permits, the site and its owner carry no liability for loss tied to using these pages, trusting their content or working with any contractor. Sending fake requests, disrupting the site and copying its content for commercial gain are not allowed.

Indiana law controls these terms, and an Indiana court is the place for any dispute over them. Changes take effect as soon as they appear on this page.
